Exclusive interview with Shaquielle McKissic, one of the main players of Olympiacos this season. Olympiacos won the greek derby with Panathinaikos by 28 points in an amazing performance.
Extraordinary win in the greek derby against Panathinaikos Shaquielle McKissic, what are your feelings?
“It never gets old, year by year. I sleep like a baby before the game and I wake up knowing that we probably gonna win the game.”
Olympiacos is onfire. Now you can no longer hide, the Final Four in Belgrade is a minimum goal.
“Yes, I think so. We have to continue play hard, going into the playoffs and then think at the Final Four, where anything can happen.”
Olympiacos are travelling from an important generation of champions such as Spanoulis, Printezis, Papanikolaou… to a team that combines this with young new talents such as you, Vezenkov, Dorsey etc. Do you feel like a great character in this transition?
“We try to learn a lot from Coach Bartzokas, who already won an EuroLeague in 2013. He’s a great coach and you know we have to continue to play in this way, in particular at the Playoffs.”
How important is it to find such a hot and full arena for you?
“It was absolutely amazing. You came in, see this people chanting from the beginning… and also when we were up by 30, incredible!”
